Gina's Story

Utter passion for horses led Gina Riedmuller on a journey that began in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and continues today in Maryland. She has been enthralled with equines since she was 4 years old, when she was nipped by a yearling on a coconut estate in Tobago. Her father consoled her by saying it was the bite of love. And so it was...

Gina started riding with British Horse Society Instructors Rosslyn Carr and Robyn Melville while growing up on the former British island of Trinidad. She also worked for Bays and Greys under the tutelage of Patrice Stollmeyer. Thoroughbreds from the racing industry there, along with a naughty pony called Shawnee and a gem of a pony called Sprite, were her first partners.

She left to attend the University of Florida and was an avid member of the UF Equestrian Team, even earning the High Point Rider in Hunt Seat Equitation in her final year at UF. With the intention of securing her work permit in the US, Gina taught mathematics in the juvenile program VisionQuest, which allowed her to ride on horse back from Okeechobee FL to Selma NC.

She settled for 3 years in the Maryland area, where she leased a Trakhener/TB mare, Matilda. She bred this lovely grey mare to Holsteiner stallion Cottage Boy. She moved to Southern California, taking her yearling with her with the intention of beginning an eventing career. There, Gina rode with Jennifer Johnson and Robyn Fisher at Mill Creek Equestrian Center.
She did indeed bring her horse Cello through the levels of eventing and 3rd Level dressage, earning her USDF bronze medal in 2014. Gina was also a 4* groom for Robyn Fisher, who was short listed on the Event team in 2004 - 2006. Gina attended many USET Eventing Training Sessions along the East Coast.
In Maryland, Gina had the opportunity to manage the dressage barn Wyndahm Oaks in Boyds, MD and work for Allison Springer Eventing in Upperville, VA. Allison was an amazing teacher and mentor, at which point Gina realized she could fully pursue her dreams.
With the tools to train horses correctly, Gina started Partnership Equestrian, and has brought several sporthorses along. Her start did not fail her as she happily ended up with lots of track horses in the barn.
