Training

At Partnership Equestrian, both the rider and the horse participate in the training process.  To quote mentor Allison Springer, everytime you are on a horse, you are training him/her.

Successful training embraces a systematic approach where the horse understands his job and where he gains the confidence, balance and strength to do what he/she is asked.

To develop the horse's true self carriage is a journey that takes considerable time, effort and expertise which is often overlooked in today's world.

Lessons and training are based on the German Training Scale.

The rider's responsibility to the horse cannot be over stated. The emphasis is on rider position in balance and the ability  to apply the correct aids.

Only then can rhythm, relaxation and impulsion of the horse producing correct muscling and self carriage be achieved. True partnership can only happen with self carriage of both horse and rider.

This carries over into the riding ability of the rider on the flat and over fences.  There is an Olympic size dressage court, a full course of jumps, undulating terrain at the facility and XC schooling opportunities nearby to hone these skills.
